Michigan · November 2026 general election

Which Republicans on your ballot aren’t MAGA?

We researched every Republican on the ballot — Trump endorsements, 2020-election stances, and faction signals — and sorted them into three buckets. Start with the short answer, then check the receipts.

The short answer

Four are clearly traditional establishment Republicans: Anthony Forlini (Secretary of State), Doug Lloyd (Attorney General), Roger Victory (MSU trustee), and Andy Anuzis (Wayne State governor). No Trump endorsements, no election denial — and Forlini and Lloyd both beat MAGA-aligned rivals at the party convention.

Five are MAGA-aligned: John James, Heather Smiley, Bree Moeggenberg, Lena Epstein, and Julie Maday.

The rest are mixed — some with genuinely complicated records (Mike Rogers), some with records too thin to call. Details below.

Coverage so far: Ann Arbor Ward 5 ballot. Statewide address lookup is in the works — see below.

Address lookup is not live yet. When it launches it will map your address to your congressional, state House, and state Senate districts plus statewide races.

How we classified them

  1. Trump endorsement — endorsed by Trump in 2024 or 2026, or a documented role in his campaigns.
  2. 2020 election stance — on-the-record denial/fraud claims vs. acknowledging the results.
  3. Faction signals — public positions and career facts: Moms for Liberty leadership, “never Trump” history, establishment roles (party chair, Snyder appointee), convention fights against MAGA rivals.

Researched October 2, 2026 from public records, endorsements, votes, and on-the-record statements. Where no 2020 statement or Trump endorsement was found, we say so — absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, and several down-ballot candidates simply have thin public records. Verdicts reflect what is publicly documented, not private beliefs.
